Dancing to Impress

Last night we were treated to traditional Cambodian dance. The girls and boys in the Center put on their dance costumes and did interpretive dance for us. The Director of the center (Pat Noun)is a bit of a snakey guy and uses this to lure in tourists to raise money. The kids really seem to enjoy dancing so for that reason it was fun to see. The costumes were beautiful and the girls looked absolutely stunning all dressed and made up.

The little girl in the front, dressed in pink, (the daughter of the dance instructor) will likely dance for the King some day. She was quite coy and just looked so grown up. Some of her moves were almost seductive which was kind of scary to see. But all in all it was a treat to see the kids dance their traditional dances.

The children here are beautiful and LOVE having their pictures taken. Here are some of them:
This little boy always seems to have a pout on his face.

This little girl tries not to smile but can't quite hold a straight face.

After the dancinhg we went on a Happy Hour cruise along the Mekong River. The sunset was amazing. It's as if I couldn't take a bad picture!

Tomorrow's update will be on our adventures teaching English to the kids...

The children are holding little bronze pots that are filled with flowers. At one point in the dance they throw the flowers out in to the audience. They are all so beautiul. It's hard not to have favorites :-)
